India’s Ambuja Cements says flood shuts plants

Ambuja Cements Ltd. , India’s third-largest cement maker, said on Thursday it had stopped operations at its plants in western Gujarat state after heavy rains and floods.  
 
The company, nearly 30 percent owned by  Holcim , said in a notice to the stock exchange it was in the process of estimating losses from the flood and had full insurance cover.
