State-owned cement producer PT Semen Gresik said it is set to maintain its lead in domestic sales now with a market share of 46 per cent.
Expansion in the export market will depend on surplus in the domestic market, company President of Dwi Sutjipto said.
Dwi said the country’s largest cement producer has exported only up to 10 per cent of its production and exports have been made only to South Asian countries and Africa.
He predicted that this year the company targets to chalk up a 7.5 per cent increase in sales in the domestic market.
This year the production capacity of the company is estimated to rise 200,000t to 17.1Mt including from its subsidiaries PT Semen Padang in West Sumatra and PT Semen Tonasa in South Sulawesi.
