UAE cement cap scepticism

UAE cement cap scepticism
02 July 2007

Analysts in the UAE’s cement industry say the recently imposed price cap, which will see the product pegged at Dhs295/t until at least the end of 2007, will impact manufacturers, reported Gulf News.

Ken Rumph of Sustainable Building Strategies said fuel prices will continue to rise even though the cost of cement will stay static. Manufacturers say raw materials like clinker are also proving increasingly expensive.
