Qinghai’s demand to exceed 5Mt, China
04 June 2007

Thanks to the Chinese Government’s development and investment policies in western China, Qinghai Province saw a robust investment in construction of railways, roads, power stations, and national defense, industry and civil projects, pushing its demand for cement from 3.7Mt in 2006 to 5Mt.

The number of cement companies in the province exceeded 20, with the total cement production capacity reaching approximately 10Mt, sufficient to satisfy demand in the province.
