Qatari firms in deal to set up cement factory in Pakistan

Qatar National Cement Company (QNCC), along with two other Doha-based entities, is constructing a cement factory in Pakistan.

QNCC, Qatar Investment Authority and Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company has jointly signed a memorandum of agreement to construct the cement factory at Sind province in Pakistan, according to a communiqué posted on the Doha Securities Market website.

However, the communiqué was devoid of other details regarding the construction cost, production capacity, execution period and the proportion of contribution form each of three investors.

It said the signing of the agreement was within the framework of the visit of the Finance Minister and the accompanying delegation to Pakistan.

Other firms such has Qatar Islamic Bank and Qatar Islamic Insurance are also planning to enter the Pakistani market.
