Estonia’s Kunda Nordic Cement boosts output 20 per cent

Kunda Nordic Cement has put a renovated kiln in operation two months ago and is now able to produce up to 1Mta of cement – almost one-fifth more than before the launch of the new line.  
 
Tapio Aura, managing director of Kunda Nordic Cement, told the regional newspaper Virumaa Teataja that output in the coming years is expected to reach 1.3Mta.  
 
In both this year and in 2008 Kunda Nordic Cement intends to make investments to the tune of 200m kroons (EUR 12.8m).  
 
Sales by Kunda Nordic Cement last year rose by nearly 26 percent in comparison with 2005 to 824.3 million kroons. The company sold 921,000t of output in 2006.  
 
Kunda Nordic Cement is a company of the Heidelbergcement group.  
 
Aside from producing various cements and clinker, the company based in the North Estonian coastal town of Kunda provides port services and produces crushed limestone.
