Turkish cement producer Akcanca announced that the company made a payment of TRY 3.5m (US$2.6m) in fines.

The competition board had fined the company a total of TRY5.7m after investigations regarding the Akcanca’s cement and ready-mixed concrete operations in the Aegean region.

In the statement sent to the ISE, Akcansa noted that the council of state already issued an injunction order for the TRY 2.3m part of the fine imposed by the board for the company’s ready-mixed concrete operations thus  Akcansa would not make this payment.

Despite the TRY 3.5m payment made, Akcansa said, its appeal against this fine is currently pending at a court.
