British Precast member companies updated on UK cement supply position

At today’s British Precast Concrete Federation AGM and Annual Conference members heard informative presentations from Mike Gilbert, Chief Executive of the British Cement Association, and Andy Murphy of Lafarge Cement UK to update members about the current and future cement supply position. Members were reassured by the BCA presentation that the position with Cemex, Buxton Cement and Castle Cement supplies to the precast sector are currently normal and unaffected. Andy Murphy explained the more difficult position at Lafarge Cement and outlined remedial actions being taken.

Members welcomed the statements and ensuing discussion and called for further dialogue through the BCA and British Precast.
