Strengthening its Western United States precast presence, Hanson Structural Precast, a division of Hanson Building Products North America, today announced the purchase of Cheyenne Concrete Company with its subsidiaries Eagle Precast Company and Alpine Crane & Rigging. Eagle Precast is a Salt Lake City-based manufacturer of precast/prestressed concrete structural and architectural building components. The acquisition includes two facilities in Salt Lake City and Caldwell, Idaho. Alpine Crane and Rigging provides crane services for Eagle Precast and other companies in the Salt Lake City area.

"Eagle Precast is the premier architectural concrete products manufacturer in the entire Intermountain West region. Its products have earned certification in all of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute’s product categories, a distinction few precast operations in the U.S. can claim," said Richard Manning, president of Hanson Building Products North America. "This acquisition is a testament to the importance of the architectural and structural precast segments of the growing precast market. We are proud to add Eagle Precast and Alpine Crane and Rigging employees to the Hanson North America team."

Eagle’s product line includes an array of architectural and structural precast products. Architectural products include precast spandrels and column covers, glass fiber reinforced concrete products, and custom made sections used for commercial and institutional projects. Structural products include hollow-core plank and walls, bridge girders, double tees, wall sections, pilings, bleacher seats and riser sections, columns, beams and other components used throughout the construction industry.

"The acquisition of Eagle Precast provides Hanson with a key architectural/structural precast company in the fast growing Intermountain West," said Ed Wopschall, president of Hanson Structural Precast. "Hanson’s expertise will allow the Eagle facilities to expand upon the growing interest for architectural and structural products throughout this area."

Eagle Precast’s 250 employees will join the Hanson family and have opportunities for training and advancement.

The Eagle Precast facilities will be part of Hanson Structural Precast’s region based in Irwindale, Calif. The region services California, houses 375 employees and its two facilities produce several products, including those used for community and roadway development such as reinforced hollow-core planks, girders, columns, double tees, stairs, spandrels, walls and insulated wall panels.
