Cement production reaches record high

Production of clinker in Poland reached 2.37Mt in Q1 2007, an increase of 102.4% compared with the corresponding period of 2006, and cement output soared 184.6% to 2.9Mt, according to the Polish Cement Association.

Production of clinker was up 63.3% year on year in March 2007 and cement output jumped by 155.6%.
Meanwhile, sales of cement in Q1 2007 increased by 165% in relation to the first quarter of 2006; domestic sales noted a mammoth increase of 165.6%, and exports surged by 148%.
