Iran’s Ehdasse Sanat Corp will complete a cement production plant in Syria by the end of the Iranian year on March 20, 2008.

"The plant is under construction in the city of Hama and is slated to produce 1Mta of cement," said Ahmad Hallajian, the managing director of the Ehdasse Sanat Corp.

He added that the Syrian side is satisfied with the construction process.

Ehdasse Sanat is also building a cement production plant in Venezuela.

"The plant in Venezuela, under construction in Monayas province, will produce one million tons of cement per annum, and is expected to come onstream within the next two years," Hallajian said.

Ehdasse Sanat Corp is affiliated to Iran’s ministry of industries and mines.
