Grasim Industries and Aditya Birla – cement sales up

Cement production at Grasim for the period April-March 2007 has moved up by 8.33 per cent at 325.19 lakh mt as against 300.19 lakh mt during April-March 2006.     

Cement production for the period April-March 2007 moved up by 8.33 per cent at 325.19 lakh mt as against 300.19 lakh mt during April-March 2006. Dispatches grew by 8.46 per cent at 325.63 lakh mt in April-March 2007 vis-a-vis 300.22 lakh mt in the corresponding period last year.

Cement production and dispatches for the month of March 2007 stood at 31.13 lakh mt and 31.65 lakh mt, registering a growth of 6.17 per cent and 7.64 per cent over March 2006 respectively.

Meanwhile, India’s Aditya Birla Group cement shipments in March rose 7.64 per cent from a year earlier to 3.2Mt, it said in a statement on Monday.
