Chinese company studies extension of cement factory in Yemen

A team of ASMC Chinese company started on Saturday carrying out works of topographical survey for project of extending Bajil Cement Factory.


The survey aims at studying establishment of a third production line for the factory at a total cost of US$113m.


Director of the factory, Abdul-Karim Harah, estimated volume of the production for the third line at 850,000tpa, making it clear that the project includes supplying the factory with modern equipment, which helps in reducing environment impact s of cement industry Last February, the General Corporation for Cement and the Chinese company signed an agreement to carry out the project. 


Under the agreement, the Chinese Bank for Exports would offer 80 percent of total cost of the project as a loan.
