Gresik targets 3% rise in sales this year
05 March 2007

Indonesia’s largest cement producer PT Semen Gresik said it is targeting a 2-3 per cent increase in cement sales to 16.47Mt this year after zero growth last year.

The income of the state-owned company is projected to rise 7-8 per cent from Rp7.9 trillion (US$877.5m) in 2006, its Finance Director Cholil Hasan said.

Hasan said he expected no sharp increase in demand for cement this year despite ambitious infrastructure projects of the government and rehabilitation of flood devastated areas.

Semen Gresik, which has two large subsidiaries PT Semen Padang in West Sumatra and PT Semen Tonasa in South Sulawesi, has a 45 share of cement market in the country.
