Cement industry to expand four per cent in 2007
23 January 2007

Mexico’s cement industry is to expand just four per cent in 2007. One of the main reasons that prevent a bigger dynamics is the lack of great infrastructure works, representatives of the sector said. The only thing that will keep the sector afloat will be the construction of half a million houses over the next 12 months. Great infrastructure works won’t start until 2008. In this sense, Osmin Rendon, Director General of the National Chamber of Cement (Canacem), confirmed that the organism will wait before making an estimate about the industry’s performance.  Published under Cement News
