Dalmia Cement Q3 net profit jumps by 453 per cent
New Delhi, Jan 16 (PTI) Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd today reported a more than five-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 64.84 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, compared to Rs 11.72 crore in the year-ago period.
Sales for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, rose by 66 per cent at Rs 231.05 crore against Rs 138.90 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal, the company said in a statement.
Dalmia Cement had recently announced plans to set up a four million tonne per annum capacity greenfield cement plant in Andhra Pradesh for an investment of Rs 1,450 crore.
The expansion, which would be funded by raising external money, would take the company’s total cement capacity to about 12Mt, it said.
