Austrian construction firm Strabag is set to begin building a HUF33bn (US$169m) cement plant in the Kiralyegyhaza, southern Hungary, next September.

The plant, which is expected to produce 830,000t of cement per year with 100 employees, should be completed by 2009.

Strabag plans to use much of the cement for its own projects in the region, but will also sell on the domestic and regional market.

Strabag is a major provider of building services in Central and Eastern Europe, and employs over 45,000 workers in over 500 locations across Europe.
