ECF cement closed due to environmental problems

 The Environmental Agency of Albania, announced today the closure of a big cement plant in Elbasan, (central Albania), owned by an Anglo-Libyan company ECF.
 
"We have ordered the closure of the ECF cement factory because the company has failed to fulfill its environmental obligations", - declared Beqir Kila, head of Regional Environmental Agency, according Balkanweb news agency.

ECF was ordered to stop operations until installation of a system to decrease the level of pollution. Elbasan is known as the most polluted town in Albania.

ECF is the owner of two existing cement factories in the country. Financial data of ECF activities are not available.
