Antimonopoly Department launches investigation into the cement price rise

Price rise in construction materials have been observed in Azerbaijan over the past few days and it particularly affected on the cement prices. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development informed Trend that the Antimonopoly Policy Department of the Ministry set up investigation into the rise of cement prices and a special working group has been established in this respect.

The working group is investigating factors which caused rise in prices, fulfillment of requirements of the antimonopoly legislation in the establishment of a dealer and distribution network, relevance of the legislation to marking and quality indication on cement manufactured in the country.

Antimonopoly Department of the Ministry of Economic Development warns that relevant measures will be taken with respect to remove artificial factors promoting rise of prices.
