Dalmia Cements Bharat Ltd is looking to set up a 4Mt greenfield cement manufacturing unit in Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh and will cater to the southern markets.

DCBL would be taking over Eswar Cements, which has 400 acres of land and limestone reserves, for setting up the facility.

The new plant is likely to be commissioned by mid-2008. DCBL is also planning to takeover OCL India in Orissa, which has a capacity of 2Mt. The company is in the process of expanding its capacity to 4Mt by 2008-2009.

DCBL has a 3.5Mt plant in Tamil Nadu and expects to reach a total capacity of 11.5Mt by 2008-2009.  
 
Meanwhile, Dalmia Cement has reported a phenomenal jump in net profits for the quarter ending September 2006. During this quarter ie Q2 FY07, the company saw a 486% rise in PAT over the corresponding period last year i.e. from Rs 8.88 crores to Rs.52 crores.
