An international bid for building the second line for Quena cement

The envelope opening of the international bid to establish the second line for Quena cement which was bided for 7 international companies to produce 1.7Mt of clinker cement. The companies that contributed in the bid where from Germany, Denmark, France and china .the envelopes would be opened next January and would start implementing after that in 15 months with a limit of expenditures of US$100m  or nearly 600m L.E.


Mohamed Mahmud ali Hassan chairman of Egypt quena cement announced this and said that the production of the second line would be exported to European countries and there will be a special export port in safaga to carry out these processes.


And he said that company had exported 537,000t of cement to the red sea basin in Sudan and Syria with 400 L.E per tonne and reached US$85 and sold locally by US$52 in a limit of 300 L.E. cement is considered to be the only good exported by higher prices than the local prices.
