29 September 2006

The Incorporated Masterbuilders Association of Jamaica, says the construction sector is starting to settle down following the crisis in the sector earlier this year.

President of the Association, Michael Archer, says in the wake of the continuing importation of large supplies of cement, the industry is expected to recover in coming months.

A study is also being conducted to determine market demand for cement supplies in the new year.

The exercise which is being carried out by the Planning Institute of Jamaica is aimed at compiling data which will help the authorities to properly manage the demand and supply of cement.
