Austrian cement producer Lafarge Perlmooser AG, part of the Lafarge Group, took over three ready-mixed concrete plants of Austrian construction material group Lasselsberger, Lafarge Perlmooser said on September 20, 2006.

The deal includes two concrete works in Vienna, one plant and a gravel pit in Parndorf, in the province of Burgenland, and two cement terminals in the ports of Vienna and Enns. Gravel silos and a cement bagging line at the Vienna port were also acquired.

Lafarge Perlmooser seeks to strengthen its positions in the field of ready-mixed concrete and its logistics, company CEO Peter Orisich said. The Danube ports will allow efficient cooperation with Lafarge subsidiaries in Serbia and Romania.

Following the takeover Lafarge Perlmooser will have 10 ready-mixed concrete works in Austria, with a total capacity of 800,000 cu m.
