Carib Cement still paying compensation
Caribbean Cement Company Limited has paid out more than half of the $160m it has set aside to compensate persons who suffered losses due to the release of poor quality cement earlier this year.
General Manager Anthony Haynes told the Financial Report that Caribbean Cement has received more than 1,000 claims.
“We’re going as fast as we can…. We’ve actually paid out in cash now, more than $85m,” he said.
