Gaddafi lays foundation stone for new plant

The Leader of the Libyan Revolution, Colonel Gaddafi, laid down the foundation-stone for projects to develop and increase productivity of a number of factories of the Libyan Cement Company to increase its production capacity from 1.5Mta to more than 4Mta yearly within the framework of a comprehensive plan to increase production’s lines at these factories to fully cover the region’s needs of this essential material and to cope up with the wide spread constructional development.

The projects include al-Hwari Cement Factory that would increase its production capacity from 800,000tpa to 1.8Mta and to establish new production line with a capacity of 1.4Mta at al-Hwari Factory, in addition to establishing a factory for white cement with annual production capacity of 200,000tpa

The ceremony of laying down the foundation-stone for these projects was attended by the Secretary of the General people’s Committee, the Secretary of the General people’s Committee for Industry, Electricity and Minerals and the Secretary of the people’s Committee of the Libyan Cement Company, who had offered a briefing about these projects.
