Cement prices shoot up before monsoon

Cement prices have gone up across India just before the onset of the monsoon. Cement prices in Mumbai have increased by Rs 8 a 50-kg bag, Rs 10 a bag in South India and Rs 3 a bag in Gujarat in the past week. The cost per bag has shot up by 55 per cent from Rs 145 in December to Rs 225 now in Mumbai. In Gujarat, the price has jumped from Rs 160 to 193 per bag in the last six months time for a truckload, while it is Rs 210 per bag for lesser quantities. Published under Cement News
