Cement dispatch is normalised in local markets, Dominican Republic
08 June 2006

The Cement Producers Association yesterday informed that the decline in local market supply was circumstantial, because of prior commitments by one of the manufacturers with pending exports that were being satisfied as of this past week.

Notwithstanding, these shipments were sent off, and production and local sales have returned to normal.

The association also alleges that one of the five manufacturers had been lacking sufficient raw material, but explained that this situation was being addressed, stating that necessary imports are on course, while the other producers are also assisting with supplies.
