The Contracting Committee at the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) will tomorrow meet to discuss the cement crisis in the local market. An invitation to the meeting has been sent to Mohammed Ali Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Qatar National Cement Company, according to Nasser Al Meer, head of the contracting committee and a QCCI board member said yesterday.

Al Meer said that he had talked to Al Sulaiti who confirmed that the cement crisis will lessen from today and that contractors would notice the change beginning Saturday. Among the steps taken by the company to solve the crisis was that a cement transhipment bulker with a capacity from 5000 to 5500t a day had started operating in Mesaieed Port yesterday. Moreover, the supply through Ras Laffan Port is continuing.
