Egypt’s cement output stood at 3.077Mt in September 2005, down from 3.148Mt in August 2005, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said in a report. 
 
Production of clinker fell to 2.75Mt in September 2005 from 3.078Mt in the previous month. Local cement sales totalled 2.565Mt in September 2005, compared to 2.646Mt in August 2005 and 2.619Mt in July 2005. 
 
The country’s cement exports shrank to 498,000t in September 2005 from 503,000t in August 2005, while clinker exports dropped to 147,000t from 254,000t. 
 
Egypt’s cement output stood at 28.728Mt in the fiscal 2003/2004, ended June 30, 2004, at 28.63Mt  in 2002/2003, at 26.81Mt in 2001/2002, at 25.1Mt in 2000/2001 and at 23.54Mt in 1999/2000.
