Cemex picks Microsoft-based Priya

Cemex USA, the largest cement and ready-mix manufacturer/retailer in the United States, has announced that it will install Priya warehouse management software (WMS) by Motek Inc. at 60 retail locations nationwide over the next year. This roll-out will include the support of Microsoft thanks to a partnership between Motek and Microsoft that provides Cemexwith the Microsoft POS RMS retail management system.

Cemex chose the Microsoft Windows-based Priya because they wanted an out-of-the-box product that requires no customization. Cemex operates like a retail store with warehousing functionality. Priya was the only WMS that could meet the company’s needs. "We were looking for a flexible product that could provide us with everything we needed in one solution," said Rick Wiles, Manager of Applications Development at Cemex. "Priya was the only solution that fit the bill."

"Our mission is to have the same system and the same process for each of our functional areas worldwide” explains Wiles.

Another selling point for Cemex was Priya’s easy installation process, known as Tycan. Motek project managers use Tycan’s 21-step "recipe book" to guide the project to completion with detailed descriptions of how every project hour is spent. Cemex liked the fact that Tycan provides accountability. "Tycan gives Cemex a written project plan that describes what every project meeting is for, how many hours are needed, and who is responsible for what right up until Go Live," said Motek’s service director Dawn Stramer.
