Guyana’s first bagging plant

Guyana’s first cement bagging plant will be completed by mid-year company executives here said.  Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL), which is setting up the operation, said all foundation work for bulk storage silos, packaging plant, warehouse and the administrative building has been completed.   The company said key employees also had ’hands on’ experience at its two cement companies in Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados in preparation for the operations here.

In a statement TCL justified building the facility here, noting that Guyana is traditionally its largest export market, further explaining that it will meet perennially substantial demands for the building product here.  TCL also forecasts that with spiralling increases in cement supplies, the distribution network will be expanded across the country.
