Castle Cement last week commenced hostilities against rival Cemex for business in Scotland, with plans to develop a new rail distribution centre in North Lanarkshire  A Castle spokesman said: "Lafarge is the dominant company in Scotland with about half the market share, while Castle and Cemex jostle for second place.  "Castle wants to get a bit closer to Lafarge."
