Podilskyi Tsement to switch to dry
21 March 2006

The Podilskyi Tsement cement company, which is one of the three largest producers of cement in Ukraine, intends to shift to the dry method of cement production. According to Ukrtsement’s Chairman Anatolii Havriushyn, the first stage of modernization of Podilskyi Tsement is installation of equipment fired by coal fuel, including mills, while the second stage involves replacement of the two exiting furnaces with one.  He also said that Podilskyi Tsement would make the shift to the dry method of cement production after evaluating its effectiveness.  Podilskyi Tsement also intends to make a complete transition of the use of coal instead of gas as fuel before the year 2008. The plant is owned by Ireland’s CRH Poland BV subsidiary. Published under Cement News
