Mardin Cimento to build new clinker unit
21 February 2006

Turkish cement, clinker and ready-mixed concrete producer Mardin Cimento will start the construction of an additional clinker production facility, worth Euro 45m in March 2006, Mardin Cimento CEO Kemal Dogansel said.  The new unit, to be built near the company existing plant, will have an annual production capacity of 1Mt when completed within year. Part of the equipment will be delivered from Germany, Denmark and Australia.  The new unit is expected to cover the increase in demand, which Mardin Cimento cannot meet at the moment, despite working at full capacity, Dogansel added. During construction works 700 will be employed and when the clinker facility goes operational the present workforce of 350 will be increased slightly. Published under Cement News
