New packing plant for Padang

PT Semen Padang (SP) is developing cement packing plant in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) to help the government in reconstructing and rehabilitating the province at the aftermath of earthquake and tsunami more than a year ago.  The management of Semen Padang predicted the cement packing plant will need a total investment of IDR19 billion. For the first step, the largest Indonesian cement manufacturer will develop cement terminal, and this process will finish on August this year. 
 
The Corporate Secretary of Semen Padang, Chairinal Chaidir, said the development of the plant will accelerate the rehabilitation process in Aceh.  Chaidir explained the company will develop the packing plant at the harbor of Malahayati, Banda Aceh. The packing plant will be at the capacity of 150,000 tons per annum. 
 
"The most important thing for the company is to develop cement terminal so that the distribution process of cement will be faster and the demand from the market for reconstruction of Aceh will be running well," he said. He was accompanied by the public relation manager of PT Semen Padang, Oktiwery, yesterday. 
In the long run, the management of the company will increase the capacity of the packing plant to 150,000tpa.
 
The Marketing Director of Semen Padang Widodo Santoso said the first objective f the company in developing this facility is to conduct the humanity mission. "We are aiming at running humanity program so that we don’t set any selling price target to get certain profit margin," he said (original report Bisnis Indonesia)
