Cemenco blames unscrupulous dealers for price hike
13 February 2006

The management of the Liberia Cement Corporation (CEMENCO) is appealing to the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Commerce to assist in controlling the price of cement on the Liberian market.  CEMENCO’s management admitted that some unscrupulous dealers of the commodity are orchestrating the increase in the price of cement on the Liberia market.

Reacting to a media report, the CEMENCO Management said it has taken several measures to curtail exorbitant price scandal being orchestrated by those unscrupulous dealers.  The corporation then noted that effective yesterday, it has taken the initiative to transport all cement sold to its distributors to their distribution points for the purpose of retailing the commodity; and that all sales will be effectively coordinated by the management’s representatives.
