Cimpor buys Spain Aridos del Cantabrico for EUR 7.7m

Cimpor via its Spanish subsidiary Corporacion Noroeste de Hormigones Y Aridos, has acquired the entire stake of Spanish aggregate company Aridos del Cantabrico for a total EUR7.7m (US$9.227m), Cimpor said in a statement. According to the statement, the deal was closed on February 7, 2006. 
 
Aridos del Cantabrico’s main activity consists of extracting, screening and commercialising aggregates. Its installed capacity is 250,000tpa. The company is exploring its own quarry, located in Spain’s northern region of Lugo, Galicia. Aridos del Cantabrico has also a ready mix concrete facility with an annual output of some 22,500m3.
