Siam Cement’s joint venture with Khaou Chuly MKK Co Ltd., a Cambodian construction and engineering company, will commence production at Cambodia’s largest cement plant in 2008 following the official launch of construction last week. The US$82m factory is expected to produce about 1Mt of cement annually. "I expect demand for cement in Cambodia to grow around 10% a year," due to government projects, a Siam Cement spokesman said.
