Gebr Pfeiffer, Germany has received a contract from Arabian Cement Company, Saudi Arabia for supplying the grinding plant for the production of 750tph of raw meal. The plant will be set up at their Rabigh works which is about 140km north of Jeddah. Arabian Cement is going to install a new production line there, ie line No 6 with a clinker capacity of 7000tpd.
 
The grinding plant will comprise two parallel lines producing 375tph each. This production rate includes an excess capacity to be added to the raw meal requirement of the existing plant. The core of the new grinding plant will be two mills of the type MPS 5300 B, each with a drive power of 4000kW. The product fineness will be 12 per cent residue on 90 microns. Gebr Pfeiffer will also supply the engineering for the complete grinding plant.
 
Any ancillaries and parts to be manufactured locally will be procured by the customer in close cooperation with the Austrian consultant ÖMAG. After commissioning of line no. 6, lines 1 through 4 will be closed. The Rabigh works is the biggest one in the Jeddah area, with capacity rising to 11,000tpd after the modernisation.
