Semapa posts lower profits

Consolidated net profit of Portuguese industrial holding group Semapa stood at Euro 29m in the January to September 2005 period, the company said in a report to Portugal’s national securities regulator CMVM on November 28, 2005.  The net profit for the said period was down compared to the preliminary projections of the economy analysts in the country. Portuguese investment banks Caixa - Banco de Investimento (Caixa BI) and Millennium bcp Investimento have earlier projected Semapa’s January to September 2005 profit to stand at Euro 32.45m. The holding group includes the cement producers Semapa and Secil, the renewable energy company Enersis and the pulp and paper maker Portucel. Published under Cement News
