President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kurmanbek Bakiev, has made the first quarter of 2006 as the date to begin construction work on the building the cement factory in Kysylkia district. The country’s present production of cement originates from the Kant works in the Kantskiy district which operates with five wet lines and a total milling capaity of 1.2Mta. This plant has majority government ownership but the incoming president has signalled that this plant may be offered for sale to the private sector before too long. Published under Cement News
