Lafarge has further consolidated its leading position in the British cement market, albeit in a small way, by acquiring the Kent-based importer The Port Land Cement Company from its founder Robert Lee.  The Port Land Cement Company operates an import operation at Ridham Dock, near Sittingbourne in Kent and sells both bagged and bulk cement. It volumes are believed to amount to around 0.1Mt on an annualised basis.
