Gujarat Ambuja July sales down 8% YoY, India

Cement sales of Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd. stood at 0.9Mt in July as against 1.028Mt in the same month last year, registering a decline of eight per cent. Cement production during the month was 0.9Mt compared to 1.032Mt in July 2004, reflecting a drop of 8.04 per cent.

Cement shipments for Ambuja Cement Eastern Ltd grew by 7.82 per cent to 0.12Mt from 0.115Mt in the same month last year. Output jumped by nearly eight per cent last month to 0.122Mt from 0.113Mt in the same month last year. The company said that cement sales for the month were lower due to excessive rains in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
