Malaysia cement producers in talks to avert price war

Malaysia’s major cement producers, Lafarge Malayan Cement Bhd, Cement Industries of Malaysia Bhd and YTL Cement Bhd and other smaller firms recently held talks in a bid to seek a pricing agreement, the Sun newspaper reported, quoting unnamed sources.  The newspaper added the talks are believed to be an effort to avert a further price war.   It added that currently, the recent average market price for cement is at M$180 per tonne.
