The Podilskyi Tsement company, one of Ukraine’s three biggest producers of cement (Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi region), intends to fully go over to the use of coal instead of gas fuel before the year of 2008. "At the end of this or the beginning of next year we are planning to start the transfer (to coal)... A German and a Danish companies won tenders for the supply of equipment," a company spokesman said. Preparatory work to install equipment, he added.
 
As Ukrainian News reported, Podilskyi Tsement increased cement production by 21.8 per cent or 37,300t to 208,300t in June 2005 compared with June 2004.  
Podilskyi Tsement operates six kilns for cement production with a combined capacity of 3.7Mta. Ireland’s CRH Poland BV owns 93.68 per cent of the shares in the Podilskyi Tsement company.   Published under Cement News
