Strabag seeks site for cement plant in Hungary

Austrian construction holding Strabag is looking for a suitable site for a new cement works in Hungary in which Euro 106m will be invested, it was reported on July 26, 2005.  According to Hungarian daily Napi Gazdasag Strabag will build the plant, which will be the largest cement works in central Europe, in Kiralyegyhaza, southern Hungary. So far Bukkosd had been named as the most possible site. 
 
Strabag manager Otto Zimmermann confirmed that Kiralyegyhaza was suitable for the project since it was near the planned M6 motorway and had all necessary transport infrastructure. Also there were no protests by the local communities.  Strabag will decide on the plant location by the end of 2005. The cement works is to open in 2009.  Published under Cement News
