The cement consumption in Spain expanded 5.1 per cent year-on-year in the first half 2005 to 25.19Mt, the Spanish cement makers association Oficemen said on July 19, 2005.  In June 2005 alone, the cement consumption rose 3.4 per cent year-on-year. The cement consumption in the period from June 2004 to June 2005 totalled 49.21Mt, rising 4.5 per cent from the period June 2003-June 2004.  The cement output in Spain in the first six months of 2005 totalled 24.23Mt rising 4.8 per cent year-on-year. 
 
The cement production in June 2005 alone reached 4.42Mt, up 4.5 per cent from June 2004.  Cement production in the 12 months from June 2004 to June 2005 totalled 47.72Mt, up 4.3 per cent from the period June 2003-June 2004.  Imports of cement reached 4.35Mt in the first half 2005, up 9.2 per cent year-on-year. Exports dropped to 738,519t in the period from January to June 2005, down 3.7 per cent year-on-year. Published under Cement News
