Garadagh Cement held general meeting of shareholders on 22 June and announced the results of activities in 2004. The main result was increase of production by 30.8 per cent.  The chair of the board of Garadagh Cement Uwe Keller said at the meeting that in 2004 the facility produced 1.3Mt of concrete, by 0.4Mt more than in 2003. Before purchasing the plant by the Swiss company Holcim, the production was only 0.2Mt per annum. 

"To satisfy the local market, in 1999-2004 the main shareholder invested $26.8m in addition the facility utilised clinker from the Volsk Facility (Russia) for improvement of production. 

Garadagh Cement has submitted to the government proposals for the utilisation of alternative fuels. To date, 552 employees work at the facility.
