07 June 2005

Kuwaiti paper bag manufacturer Shuaiba Paper Products has opened the Nishat Shuaiba cement paper bag factory in Pakistan, it was reported on June 6, 2005.  The plant was set up in partnership with Pakistan’s cement maker DG Khan Cement and has a capacity to produce some 70 million paper bags a year. The plant’s capacity is planned to be later raised to meet the growing demand for cement paper bags, Shuaiba Paper Products added.

The new plant was set up as part of the company’s expansion policy, which also includes the establishment of a paper bag plant in Saudi Arabia in partnership with Saudi cement maker Yanbu Cement Company (YCC). Shuaiba Paper Products holds 30 per cent of the project in Pakistan and 40 per cent of the Saudi project.
