Pivdentsement to upgrade second line

The Pivdentsement company (Olshanske, Mykolaiv region), a large Ukranian cement producer, has decided to upgrade the second clinker kiln by 2006. A spokesman said that modernisation of the kiln will allow its production to double and potentially reach 1.2Mt annually.

Pivdentsement operates two lines at present, which combined can produce as much as 1.24Mt of cement.   According to the information from the Agency for Development of the Stock Market Infrastructure, 90 per cent of Pivdentsement’s shares belong to the German company Dyckerhoff Zement International GmbH.
